This homemade spinach dip just canceled Applebee's for good

Here's a classic and creamy restaurant style spinach dip recipe that's perfect for any occasion:

Ingredients:

- 10 oz frozen spinach, thawed and drained (or fresh spinach, wilted and chopped)

- 1 cup sour cream

- 1 cup mayonnaise

- 1 packet (1 oz) dry ranch dressing mix (or 1/2 packet for a milder flavor)

- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

- 1 clove garlic, minced (optional)

- 1/4 tsp onion powder (optional)

- Salt free lemon pepper, accent salt, onion powder, garlic powder and cayenne pepper to taste

- 1 tbsp lemon juice (optional, for extra brightness)

Artichokes(optional)

Instructions:

1. **Prepare the spinach**: If using frozen spinach, just toss in a nonstick pan as you would for fresh spinach. If using fresh spinach, wilt it in a pan with a little olive oil, then chop finely.

2. **Mix the base**: In a medium non stick pot add spinach first, a freshly squeezed lemon, artichokes(if using), mayonnaise, sour cream, ranch seasoning mix, grated Parmesan cheese, and your 2 blocks of room temp cream cheese. Stir well until smooth.

3. If you want a garlicky flavor, you can add the minced garlic and onion powder at this point. (Optional)

4. **Season & garnish**: Taste the dip and adjust the seasoning with salt free lemon pepper, cayenne pepper, accent salt and lemon juice to your liking. After you have done this, now you can garnish with parsley, smoked paprika, chives or scallions(your preference)

5. Bake in a pre heated oven @ 350⁰ until golden brown

6. **Serve**: Serve with crackers, doritos, chips, pita, or fresh veggies for dipping.

This dip is rich, flavorful, and always a guaranteed hit at parties! Enjoy!

... Read moreFor those looking to make their spinach dip even more versatile or health-conscious, consider a few tweaks and serving ideas I’ve found helpful. For a lighter version, swap out the mayonnaise and sour cream for Greek yogurt, which brings a tangy twist and reduces calories while keeping the creamy texture. If you want to avoid mayonnaise altogether, using a blend of cream cheese and Greek yogurt can create a deliciously smooth dip. When it comes to serving, I love pairing this dip with a variety of dippers. Besides the classic pita chips and Doritos, fresh veggies like bell pepper strips, cucumber rounds, and carrot sticks add a refreshing crunch and balance out the richness of the dip. For an extra indulgence, toasted baguette slices or sturdy crackers work great. If you’re concerned about gluten, this homemade version is naturally gluten-free, unlike some restaurant dips. Just be sure to double-check your seasoning mixes and chips for any hidden gluten ingredients. For warming up, I recommend baking it just until the top is golden brown and bubbly at 350°F, as mentioned. It creates a delightful texture contrast between the creamy interior and crispy edges. Finally, I like adding a little extra seasoning to customize the flavor—smoked paprika or cayenne pepper gives a subtle kick, while fresh chives or parsley on top brighten the presentation and flavor. This dip is definitely a crowd-pleaser and perfect for any gathering!
