Then comes the real turning point: the discovery of the powerful cursed charm. My heart literally pounded when Megumi Fushiguro burst onto the scene, sensing the danger. It's such a stark contrast from the lighthearted school antics to the sudden, serious threat. Seeing Yuji's initial confusion about what a 'curse' even is, juxtaposed with Megumi's desperate urgency, perfectly sets up the escalating stakes of the series. The manga panels showing Megumi rushing towards the school while Yuji is still casually finishing his shot put event really underscore their different worlds colliding. This first chapter is a masterpiece of setup. It not only introduces us to Yuji Itadori, giving us glimpses of his inner kindness and fierce loyalty, but it also plants the seeds for the epic battles and moral dilemmas that define Jujutsu Kaisen.
