In HIGH SCHOOL!
When I was really young, like in grade school, I think that’s where I first peaked curiosity about God. I wanted to know who he was. I would see my aunt praying and I wanted to be able to talk to him too. I remember hearing that he’s everywhere you are & that’s what intrigued me. If you seen my other posts , i was adopted. And so even though I had a house full of people, there were many times I felt alone or not understood. I mean I didn’t even understand myself at the time of I’m being honest. But I remember wanting to know him, because I just knew he could give me comfort . I can remember me in the bathroom begging God to show me that he’s real and to reveal himself to me. I could swear on anything that it felt like a hand was on my shoulder . Like comforting me. For that moment on, I didn’t have a real relationship with him but I knew he was real, no one could tell me other wise. But I had a shallow and surface level understand of who he was. But God would show up in so many ways. I can remember us being poor , barely making it and not having much money but still being able to have a tree full of presents by Christmas. As I got older I was doing my own thing. I loved who I thought GOD was. I was in high school & distracted by boys and every thing else. I was on the track team and my coach would ask us to come get pizza during lunch. Come to find out he was reeling us in with food and there was a youth pastor there to talk to us every time. And something about it made me keep coming. I just wanted to know more . And I would meet all these random people through high school that knew God , or were doing gospel music (I loved to sing) and I would always be like wow okay GOD is looking for me and I haven’t really taken the time to sit and understand who he is. Mind you, my aunt had us in a great church at a young age but outside of singing I didn’t understand much. Once the preacher started shouting I fell asleep & it always seemed like his vocabulary as just too big for me to understand. So when times got hard and we didn’t have a car we stopped going to that church. But I always knew I the back of my head I needed to get back. So when I turned 18, I had already been exposed to sex, parties and more but somehow the pastors daughter from my old church popped up on my Facebook page . I messaged her for the address, took a two hour bus ride to get there & I haven’t left since . What’s even wilder is that we didn’t even have a car for 5 years. I told my aunt that I found the old church and we all took the bus there together. Less than 3 weeks later we ended up getting a car ! That was confirmation for us that we were in the right place that God needed us to be in. Anyways , God really was relentless in seeking me even when I really wasn’t thinking about him and he would just drop all these things in me to remind me of him. To remind me that there’s a void I couldn’t fill without HIM. & that’s been a blessing ever since to be able to truly walk in who he’s called me to be. Nowww, THAT part was not easy and took years!!! I failed so many times BUT GOD. I’ll share more of that testimony soon. Stay tuned 🫶🏾

It's like He's always there, patiently waiting for us to notice, wanting to fill that longing we often can't name. If you’re a young person navigating high school, or even just feeling a bit lost, remember that it's okay to have questions and doubts. Faith isn't about having all the answers immediately; it's a process of discovery. Don't be afraid to explore. Find a community that genuinely reflects the love you're seeking. Sometimes it’s a church, sometimes it’s a small group, or even just a trusted mentor. These connections can be lifelines when you feel alone or misunderstood, just like the author mentioned feeling adopted and sometimes isolated. The journey isn't always linear, and there will be distractions – trust me, I've had my share! But what truly makes a difference is remembering that divine comfort is always accessible.
