How to deal with mobile camps that charge us despite cancellation
Many people may have encountered "accidental subscription," "canceled but still charged in full," "monthly, only used for half a month but charged in whole months" from mobile camps, most of which we often think that it is only a few tens of baht. Let go, but in fact, this is the right of the consumer that we should receive back.
We also met ourselves fresh and hot, so we wanted to tell you what was going on and what we could do in cases like this.
On September 12, an official from the Green Camp called to introduce the Play Premium package and said that it was a special privilege, not a subscription package. We understood that it was a free license, so we agreed, but soon an SMS confirmed the subscription came in at 11: 04 a.m. The message was clear that there was a 99 baht service charge. When we saw that, we were shocked, immediately pressed to cancel. At 11: 06, there was a reply saying that it was canceled, and then we thought that everything was done.
Until last October 5th, we entered the Green Camp app and saw that the cost of this month was almost 100 baht higher.
It was checked and found that it was a discontinued package (99 baht + VAT), so I started contacting the green camp.
1. Send a message to the chat channel of the green camp.
- Authorities say someone will be contacted within three hours, but no one will call.
2. We call 1175 ourselves during 10 o'clock.
- Staff say it will coordinate and contact back within 3 hours.
3. Wait until the second afternoon but be quiet again. Call again, but still no fix.
At that time, it felt like we were following a story alone, so we tried to find out on the Internet if anyone had found it, and there were many people suggesting to report it to the NTC, so we sent an email to 1200@nbtc.go.th explaining about the incident and attached the evidence to the slip / confirmation message / the date of the call, and the result was that the NTC was running very fast for just three days (checking the peak and finding that the high monthly peak was October 5, the green camp dropped the call on October 8), and the green camp called back (no apology), saying that it had received a story from the NTC. So the story we sent and said that the 99 + vat has been reduced, so our service fee is back to normal.
We would like this article to help remind everyone that consumer rights are not a small thing, do not keep it dormant, because a small sum combined, many people are also a lot of money that we should not be charged.
