New kitten

This is the reason I haven’t been on back in May. I found a three week old kitten in my Jeep engine. He is now 17 weeks old and has me going constantly. He’s a little gremlin and he likes to play knock knock he hides in a bag, I have to knock and say anybody home hello and he pops out like a Jack in the box lol 😂 #kitten #rescue #busy #parent #I’mback

Finding a tiny three-week-old kitten tucked away in my Jeep engine was a surprise that quickly turned into a round-the-clock adventure. At this early age, kittens need careful feeding schedules, warmth, and gentle socialization to flourish. One of the most endearing behaviors I noticed was his playful game of "knock knock." He would hide inside a bag, and when I gently knocked and called out "anybody home? Hello!" he would pop out like a Jack in the box, full of curious energy. This playful nature is typical for kittens around 17 weeks old, who thrive on interactive play for physical exercise and mental stimulation. A rescue kitten’s adjustment period also involves plenty of patience and observation. Since he was found in an unusual hiding place, I made sure to take him to a vet for a thorough health check and vaccinations. It’s important to keep a rescue kitten comfortable and safe during this time, especially when acclimating them to a new home environment. I also found that providing a variety of sensory experiences helps kittens develop confidence. Toys that mimic prey, soft blankets, and even safe hiding spots encourage positive exploration. The little nickname "gremlin" fits well given his mischievous antics, but these moments create priceless memories and deepen the human-animal bond. Beyond the joy and the constant activity a kitten brings, rescue parenthood offers a chance to make a real difference in an animal’s life. It reminds me how vital community awareness and kindness are when it comes to taking in and caring for abandoned or stray animals. If you ever find yourself rescuing a furry friend from an unexpected place—like an engine compartment—prepare for a whirlwind of love, laughter, and lively kittendom!

😺 I got a new kitten too. She'll be a year old on August 25. She's the sweetest little girl.
