Standard Chartered Taipei Charity Marathon
I didn’t run a marathon, but just 11km. Running at 15 degrees (it felt like 12 degrees) was an experience.
The run felt less competitive but more of a community event. Those who were running with friends were supporting one another and chatting about what’s going on with their life. At chokepoints, they didn’t rush but moved in a slow and orderly manner.
Will I do it again, yes! But I don’t think I have the courage now to do a 21km yet.

第一次来台北跑步。天气有点冷,但没后悔。这十一公里体验了不少,没位参赛者都和有耐心,没推挤。希望有机会再到国外跑。
Participating in the Standard Chartered Taipei Charity Marathon was a truly memorable experience that went beyond the physical challenge. The chilly weather, around 15 degrees Celsius, gave the run a refreshing feel, making it more comfortable than a hot summer race. What stood out most was the sense of community — runners were chatting and supporting each other throughout, making the event feel more like a social gathering than a competition. For anyone considering joining this event in the future, I'd suggest pairing up with friends or family to share the experience. Moving together at choked points and maintaining a calm, orderly pace really reduced stress and added enjoyment. The atmosphere was welcoming for all skill levels, which encouraged me to think about attempting longer distances in the future, though not quite 21km just yet. On a practical note, it's great to know Standard Chartered also offers marathon saving accounts related to the event, which could be useful for those planning to make marathon participation a regular goal. Overall, this charity run is perfect for those who want to enjoy running in a supportive, friendly environment while also contributing to a good cause in Taipei. Looking forward to more international runs and repeating this wonderful community experience!
