After 60 Days In The Shelter

It’s impossible not to get attached to some of the dogs you meet in the shelter and Lilah was one of those for me. I felt such a strong connection with her, and when I saw her name on the euthanasia list, I nearly crumbled.

I did everything I could to help get her seen, and thanks to all of you sharing her story, she found a foster home. Her foster mom knew she loved her right away, but she gave Lilah time to settle in, to see how she’d do with her pack… and the cats.

Turns out, Lilah formed a beautiful bond with the dogs and she’s perfectly fine coexisting with the cats. Her foster dad just needed a little more time before giving the green light 💚

And today? She’s officially adopted 🎉

Happy Tails, Lilah 🐾

Fostering not only saves lives but also provides a temporary home for dogs in need, giving them a chance to adapt to a family environment. Many people are unaware of the benefits fostering brings, such as socializing dogs and preparing them for adoption. Community involvement can significantly reduce the number of dogs facing euthanasia. By sharing stories and experiences like Lilah’s, we can create awareness about the pressing need for adopters and foster homes. Engaging in local campaigns, supporting shelters, and spreading information about #AdoptDontShop can encourage more people to consider adopting their next pet. Let's work together to ensure that every dog has the chance for a loving home, a happy tail, and the promise of a better life.
