She could’ve died from Pyometra

There were cats roaming the neighborhood, and the woman feeding them told me this mama cat had just had her second litter. A male was already trying to mate with her again. I didn’t even know what to say.

But my friend stepped in without hesitation. She took in Mama & ALL of her babies and made sure they were fixed, vaccinated, and found loving homes.

When Mama got fixed, they found endometritis while spaying her. Her uterus was removed or else it could have developed into pyometra. We saved her life.

What are the chances I was in Texas and crossed paths with her? What are the chances my friend happened to have a spare room to take her in? Fate really is something.

Mama Helium is the sweetest soul,

you can feel how grateful she is to be safe. She purrs nonstop, rubbing up against us like she knows she was saved. I’m so thankful she’s alive.

Her journey has taught me so much, and maybe, just maybe, her story will help save another cat. Because education changes everything. 💛🐾
