Chocolate Cake Recipe
Chocolate Cream Cheese Buttercream Frosting
Ingredients
• 1 1/2 Cups butter (3 sticks of butter)
• 8oz cream cheese
• 1 1/2 cup Unsweetened Cocoa
• 7 cups powdered sugar
• 1 Tablespoon Vanilla extract
• 1/4 cup of milk (more or less as needed)
1. In a large bowl use gand held mixer or stand mixer to beat butter and cream cheese until fluffy, about 3 minutes
2. Add in vanilla and unsweetened cocoa and mix until just combined, about 30 seconds.
3. Add in powdered sugar one cup at a time. Then add and mix in the milk slowly until desired consistency. It will firm up in the fridge.
4. Recommended: Use frosting immediately while it is smooth. Cake can remain at room temperature up to 4 hours. But must be refrigerated since the frosting contains milk and cream cheese.
For the cake:
I.used 1 Box Dolly Parton chocolate cake, decided inton(3) 8 inch cake pans (greased with butter), with 1 and 1/3 batter in each. Baked at 325°F for about 22 minutes, could probably just do 20.
This is what I imagine the Matilda cake tasted like. The frosting is not too rich and literally everyone loved it at Christmas dinner today. Everyone took some home with them lol
