Life lessons I learned from going back to school 🌿

From college dropout to licensed esthetician, I’ve lived MANY lives, and with that, learned even more lessons. As I near my esthie graduation, here are some things I’ve learned beyond just waxing and skin care that I’m grateful to take into the next chapter 🌸

🐣 That dream was planted in your heart for a reason! Growing up, I LOVED playing spa, waitress, and office. Providing genuine service and connection not only came natural to me, but filled my childhood heart with so much love and happiness. When I decided to drop out of college, I felt at a loss with myself. Tapping into my inner child led me on a path I never thought was possible. Pinch me!!!

🔮 Imposter syndrome. 0/10. Would not recommend. Going back to school forced me to reevaluate my relationship with not knowing what I was doing. Do you want to know who’s got it all figured out? Literally no one. OF COURSE it’s going to feel foreign. OF COURSE you’ll make mistakes. OF COURSE it’s all going to feel funny and weird and silly. Until it doesn’t. You’re not a fraud, you’re not an imposter, you’re a beginner, and that’s a beautiful thing.

🌙 GO. TO. SLEEP. I will never stop barking up this tree. Trust me, I’m more guilty than anyone for staying up on my phone until 1, 2, 3 AM and wondering why I can’t get out of bed easily or have enough energy throughout my day. Not to mention the mood swings, irregular eating schedule, dark under eyes, etc. Trust me on this, 7-9 hours of sleep nightly. Making this a priority improved literally every single aspect of my life.

📚 If you’re on a journey to change your life, cultivating a growth mindset is crucial. With a new life comes new skills, knowledge, and opportunities to live that dream life you deserve. Whatever interests you is a pull in the direction to enrich your life. Take it! “Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at 20 or 80. Anyone who keeps learning stays young.”

🏃‍♀️‍➡️ Water freezes at 32 degrees. Don’t stop at 33 because you haven’t seen results yet.

🌞 Resisting change is resisting life. The sooner we can accept situations for what they are, the sooner we can problem solve and get to where we want. Change can be daunting, but denying it is deadly. Train your brain to focus on the positives of a situation and what you can control.
