Glinda or Elphaba?
Have you seen the movie yet? one of my favorites! How I did this look:
For Glinda I did my regular base routine using my favorite products from hauslabs, yslbeauty, and hourglass. I used the patrickta pink glitter eyeshadows, and the major dimension 3 palette.
started with green face paint from the @madebymitchel color case and used the dark green shade to contour. to set the face I used a loose translucent powder from one size beauty, then went in with powders from bperfect cosmetics to finish the eyes and contour. Added some lashes from kiss and use eyeshadows to finish the lipstick.
Hey beauties! I've been absolutely obsessed with the world of Wicked lately, and diving into Glinda and Elphaba's iconic makeup looks has been such a blast. It’s more than just applying products; it’s about stepping into a character and exploring what makes them tick! You know how some characters just stick with you? For me, Glinda and Elphaba are definitely those two. On one hand, you have Glinda, the bubbly, effervescent good witch who practically invented sparkle. Her look is all about that ethereal glow, soft pinks, and a radiant complexion. It makes you feel instantly happy and light, right? I tried to capture that glow with my Glinda look, focusing on luminous bases and those dreamy pink glitter eyeshadows. It's truly magical how makeup can instantly transport you to that "Popular" vibe! Then there's Elphaba, the misunderstood powerhouse, whose transformation into the Wicked Witch of the West is legendary. Her green skin isn't just a physical change; it symbolizes her journey, her strength, and her defiance. When I put on that green face paint and started contouring with darker shades, I felt a whole new kind of power. It’s not just about being "wicked" in the traditional sense; it’s about embracing your unique self, even when the world misunderstands you. That deep green contour and dramatic eye makeup truly bring out her formidable presence. What's really fascinating to me is how these two characters, despite being so different, are intrinsically linked. It makes me think about the "black souls glinda" idea that I've seen pop up sometimes. It’s intriguing to imagine what Glinda would look like if she had a hidden depth, a slightly darker edge, without completely losing her essence. Could Glinda have a powerful, sophisticated side that's less overtly "good"? I sometimes play around with this concept myself! For instance, if I wanted to give Glinda a subtle "darker" twist, I might opt for a slightly smokier, more charcoal-infused glitter on the eyes instead of just pure pink shimmer. Or perhaps a deeper, berry-toned rose lipstick instead of a classic baby pink, paired with a more defined brow and a sharper winged liner. It's about adding a touch of mystery or power to her otherwise pristine image, without making her evil. It's like exploring her inner complexities – proving that even the "good witch" has layers! And for Elphaba, while her green is iconic, you can also play with the intensity and mood. Sometimes I go for a really deep, almost black-green smoky eye to emphasize her serious side, while other times I might incorporate iridescent greens to show a glimmer of her inherent power and potential. The contouring becomes key here; using those dark greens to sculpt really enhances the dramatic effect. Ultimately, these characters teach us that makeup isn't just about looking pretty; it's a tool for storytelling and self-expression. Whether you're channeling Glinda's radiant optimism or Elphaba's fierce independence, each brush stroke helps you embody a unique spirit. So go ahead, experiment, and let your inner Glinda or Elphaba shine – or even a complex blend of both! It’s all about discovering your own magic.
