Scent of the Day - Vanilla Was Here!

This one was so good to me I know I’ll wear it again this week. I would label this as a woody floral gourmand.

I am not a gourmand girl! So I will take traditionally gourmand scents and layer them to be more fruity, floral, or musk.

✍🏾 Vanilla 28 oil - Sugars and Butters

✍🏾 Pistachio Ice Dream oil - Brown Sugar Babe

... Read moreVanilla fragrances hold a special place in my daily routine because of their warm, cozy, yet versatile appeal. I found that combining vanilla oils and lotions can enhance natural scent depth while tailoring the fragrance to your mood. For instance, the Vanilla Romance lotion and body spray from Bath and Body Works offers a sweet and comforting aroma perfect for everyday wear. When I want something with a stronger profile, layering Vanilla 28 oil from Sugars and Butters with Pistachio Ice Dream oil by Brown Sugar Babe brings a delightful nutty and creamy touch, making the scent feel more gourmand and inviting. Interestingly, the Vanilla Reserve oil by Sand and Fog has a richer, more sophisticated vibe, which I like to pair with musk-based scents for evening occasions. The Kingdom by Lattafa provides an exotic woody background that beautifully complements vanilla's softness. One of my favorite discoveries is She Was Here by FORVR MOOD, which blends vanilla with floral and woody notes, creating a complex yet approachable scent. The key to wearing gourmand fragrances is balancing sweetness with floral, fruity, or musk notes so it doesn't become overwhelming. When experimenting with these scents, I personally prefer layering oils over lotions for longevity, and I spritz body spray after applying oils for a fresh top note. For those who aren't typically gourmands like me, playing with layering can unlock a whole new range of scented experiences that feel personalized and expressive. Vanilla is truly a timeless scent base, and with the right combinations, it can suit any season or occasion perfectly.
