Just a handful of some of my favorite switch games (a lot of which I also played on Xbox!)
Persona 5 Royal~
P5R is hands down one of my favorite games of all time. I even have a tattoo for this game! P5R is a turn-based combat RPG. The story consists of the protagonist, who is forced to stay in the big city following being falsely accused of assault. He discovers powers that let him enter an alternate universe that allows him to change the hearts of evil people
Let’s Go Eevee!~
I enjoy just about any Pokémon game, however this is a top tier in my opinion. Travel across maps, battle in gyms, catch wild Pokémon all while raising your very own Eevee!
Persona 4 Golden~
In this Persona story, the protagonist is staying with his uncle in a rural part of Japan due to his parents being overseas. When he arrives to this small town, a string of murders and kidnappings shakes the community. The protagonist and his friends are determined to get to find the culprit, using powers in an alternate universe to work through the mystery
Pokémon Legends: Arceus~
In this action RPG, you will play as a protagonist who is sent back in time to the Hisui region (based off of early Hokkaido). You will explore the region’s several open areas, all containing different types of Pokèmon for you to catch. Complete tasks, expand your Pokédex, and befriend the good people of Jubilife Village.
Road 96~
This action story game has you assume the role of several different teenage hitchhikers, who are all attempting to flee an authoritarian nation. You will be faced with multiple decisions as you play each character. Ever decision you make will affect the outcome of the game.
... Read moreBeyond just diving into the incredible stories of games like Persona 5 Royal, I've found that personalizing my Nintendo Switch experience adds another layer of fun! If you’re like me and love making everything feel a bit more 'you,' especially when it comes to your favorite titles, then thinking about how you visually present your gaming setup or even your in-game moments can be really rewarding.
One of my favorite ways to do this is through decorative overlays for my Nintendo Switch console. Imagine having your yellow Switch Lite, just like mine, adorned with subtle designs inspired by the Phantom Thieves from Persona 5 Royal, or maybe a cozy Pokémon theme for when you're exploring the Hisui region in Legends: Arceus. These aren't just stickers; they're high-quality vinyl skins that protect your console while transforming its look. You can find amazing options online, from intricate Persona 5 graphics featuring Joker and the gang to minimalist designs that echo the iconic red and black aesthetic of the game. Applying them is usually quite simple, giving your console an instant upgrade that truly reflects your gaming passions. It's a fantastic way to show off your love for a game like Persona 5 Royal even before you turn it on. For me, it makes picking up my Switch even more exciting, knowing it's uniquely mine and themed to the adventures I'm about to embark on.
Another aspect of 'overlays' that I've really enjoyed exploring, especially when sharing my gaming experiences, is how I present my screenshots. We all capture those epic boss battles, funny dialogue moments, or breathtaking landscapes in games like Persona 4 Golden or Road 96. But how do you make them stand out? This is where text overlays come in handy, much like you might see in game highlights. After capturing a screenshot on your Switch (a quick press of the capture button!), you can easily transfer it to your phone or computer. From there, using free photo editing apps, you can add your own comments, thoughts, or even little 'storyline' notes directly onto the image. For instance, imagine a screenshot from Persona 5 Royal with a caption like 'That moment when you finally change a heart!' or a Pokémon Let's Go Eevee! shot with 'My Eevee is ready to battle!' It instantly transforms a static image into a narrative piece, making your shared moments on platforms like Lemon8 much more engaging and personal. It’s a simple trick but incredibly effective for conveying the 'amazing story line' and 'strong characters' that make these games so special. It lets you elaborate on why a scene was 'fun, cozy,' or highlighted a 'great story, mystery' without needing a long paragraph under every single picture. This approach brings the 'decision based story' of titles like Road 96 to life, allowing you to highlight the choices you made and their impact. So, next time you're about to share a game moment, consider adding a personal text overlay – it truly elevates your gaming diary!
