My Worth
There comes a point when you stop shrinking yourself to make other people comfortable.
When you stop overexplaining your intentions.
Stop proving your loyalty.
Stop trying to convince people that your heart is gentle.
The people who are meant to stay won't require you to become smaller, quieter, or invisible before they can see your worth.
From my personal experience, the moment I stopped shrinking myself to fit others' expectations was transformative. For years, I tried to mold my actions and words to make people comfortable, often overexplaining my good intentions and trying to prove my loyalty endlessly. But I realized that true self-worth comes from within, and authentic relationships don’t require you to minimize your true self. The phrase "I have spent enough years trying to convince people I am safe" deeply resonates with me. It's exhausting to constantly prove your heart’s gentleness when those meant to stay will see it naturally. This mindset shift helped me cultivate inner peace by letting go of the need for external validation. On this healing journey, I embraced practices like journaling, mindfulness, and setting healthy boundaries. These tools supported me in recognizing when I was shrinking or silencing myself and empowered me to speak my truth confidently. The hashtags #KnowYourWorth, #HealingJourney, #SelfGrowth, and #EmotionalHealing truly encapsulate this process. It's important to remember that those who truly value you will accept your full self without asking you to be smaller or invisible. Recognizing this helped me attract more genuine connections and deepen existing ones. It’s a liberating experience to live authentically, honor your feelings, and know your worth unapologetically.
