🪶 Uterine Fibroids & Polyps Awareness
Not all reproductive health challenges are visible.
Uterine fibroids and polyps are common growths that can affect a woman’s quality of life, menstrual health, and fertility.
Symptoms may include:
• Heavy or prolonged periods
• Pelvic pressure or pain
• Irregular bleeding
• Difficulty conceiving
Many women silently navigate these symptoms for years before receiving answers.
If something feels different in your body, listen to it. Your concerns deserve attention, your symptoms deserve understanding, and your health deserves care.
Awareness creates advocacy. Advocacy creates change. 🤍

Uterine fibroids and polyps are among the most common benign growths affecting women’s reproductive systems, yet they often fly under the radar due to subtle symptoms or misattribution. From my personal experience and interaction with others facing these challenges, recognizing symptoms early can make a significant difference in managing the condition effectively. Fibroids are typically firm growths ranging from tiny seeds to the size of a melon, located in or on the uterus muscle wall. Polyps, on the other hand, are softer growths usually found inside the uterine lining and often attached by a stalk. Both may be singular or multiple and vary greatly in size, leading to symptoms that are sometimes dismissed as normal menstrual discomfort. Common symptoms include heavy or prolonged periods, pelvic pressure or pain, irregular bleeding, and in some cases, fertility issues. What many may not realize is that these symptoms can be hormonally driven, especially influenced by estrogen and progesterone levels. This explains why they might worsen during specific times in the menstrual cycle. Incorporating lifestyle changes can be supportive in managing fibroid health naturally. Many women find relief through dietary adjustments such as eating anti-inflammatory foods like turmeric and ginger, high-fiber plant-based meals to help flush excess estrogen, and herbal teas like raspberry leaf or dandelion for their soothing effects. Staying hydrated and regularly exercising also aid hormone balance and circulation, which is crucial for overall reproductive wellness. It's equally important to be aware of treatments available. They range from watchful waiting with small fibroids to medical interventions including hormone therapy, myomectomy (surgical removal of fibroids), uterine fibroid embolization (minimally invasive), and hysterectomy in more severe cases. Personalized ultrasound treatments and hysteroscopy are other diagnostic and treatment tools effective in managing these conditions. If you notice symptoms that don’t align with your usual health patterns, trust your instincts and seek medical attention. Early diagnosis through ultrasound or hysteroscopy can prevent complications and improve quality of life. In my journey and through stories shared by others, raising awareness is the first step toward advocacy and change, empowering women to take control of their reproductive health with confidence and care. Remember, your body is your best guide—listen closely and know that your concerns are valid and deserving of attention.
