How do you take care of your ✨mental health✨?

I just exist.

When my feelings are intense and everything is falling apart, I try not believe or dwell too long on those feelings. It’s easy for me to beat myself up and believe the negative thoughts my brain chooses to narrate.

A bad day is just that: a bad day. The sun will set and a new day will come in just a few hours. ☀️

I take a breather. I go home, take a shower, work on my skincare routine, eat my favorite meal for dinner, drink some water, and turn on a Marvel movie. 🖤

Life brings suffering and bad days all the time. They come randomly so instead of letting those bad days affect me, I tell myself good days will come and stick to a strategy to make the bad days a little lighter.

Acknowledging that a bad day is just one part of life can be the first step toward recovery. Engaging in self-care rituals, such as taking long showers, indulging in favorite meals, and immersing oneself in uplifting activities like watching beloved movies, helps lighten the emotional burden. Practicing mindfulness can also play a vital role in managing negative thoughts. Techniques such as deep breathing, journaling, or even discussing feelings can help clarify thoughts and provide relief. Honestly sleeping it off sometimes helps me. But also just sitting in silence and thinking about the day and how things could have been different. Allowing myself time to reset before the next day.
