Fuse box and relay inspection

Checking the fuse box and relay as you submit, there are important steps to help you resolve the initial car electrical problems yourself:

1. Prepare and identify problem positions

Before opening the hood, you should know which equipment does not work, such as the horn or the headlights, to target the fuse.

• Turn off the engine: and turn off the key switch every time for safety.

• Open Fuse Box Deposit: Normally located in the engine room (beside the battery) or under the driver's side console

2.Read the diagram and color code

From the illustration, it is seen that the color is divided for easy recognition (even in fact, the color of the fuse itself also tells the amp size):

3. Fuse Inspection Procedure (Fuses)

The fuse acts like a "power bridge" that will be torn when there is an overcurrent to prevent the device breaking down.

1.Pull out the fuse: Use a small tongs (usually provided in the fuse box) to pull out the body that matches the device in question straight out.

2.Visually check Czech: * Regular fuse: Inner U-shaped metal wire lines are fully welded.

• Deficient fuse: The center wire is torn apart, or black burns.

3. Replacement: If absent, replace the fuse with the same "amp (A) value" only (note the numbers on the back of the fuse, such as 10A, 15A, 30A). Do not use higher values because it can burn the wires.

4. Relay Inspection Procedure (Relays)

A relay is an "electrical switch" (a big square in the picture, such as Starter Relay or Fuel Pump Relay).

1. Listen to the sound: Try to twist the key or switch the device and listen to the "stack" sound on the relay. If the sound shows that the internal coil is still working.

2. Swap Test: If the relay in question has the same size and code as the others (for example, the horn relay is the same as the headlight relay), try alternating. If the device is back, the original relay is broken.

3. Touch: If the relay is so hot that it cannot be caught, there may be an internal shock.

Special precautions

• If the fuse is replaced immediately: Show that the electrical system has a "short circuit," hurry the car into the garage to check the wires. The fuse should not be replaced repeatedly.

• Check tightness: When plugging back, all must be pressed firmly to prevent sparks from loose contacts.
