Gemini added a new menu called "Notebooks."
Notebooks - A new feature on Gemini that just launched today (Apr 8), and if you're already using NotebookLM, this is something that's been waiting a long time.
Originally, Gemini and NotebookLM worked separately. It had to open several tabs, copy-paste, and skipped it all the time, but now Gemini adds a new menu called "Notebooks" to the left bar, and it pulls up every notebook we have on NotebookLM immediately. No need to attach one by one. No need to switch apps again.
You can create a new notebook in Gemini. It will automatically sync in NotebookLM, and vice versa. Change in NotebookLM, it will also update in Gemini. It will become the same working memory in both apps.
But what's really interesting is that we can now take Gemini chat and put it as a source in the notebook. Just press the "Add to Notebook" button and choose which one to put or create a new one. Then you can order NotebookLM to make Audio Overview, Study Guide, Slide Deck from that conversation.
A simple example is if you talk to Gemini about competitive research or meeting summaries → chat records are source → open NotebookLM, create an audio podcast, 2 people can summarize everything, and it will be grounded to what they really talked about, not compose more information.
This feature has just started a web rollout. For people with Google AI Plus packs (~ 700-800 baht / month), free users still have to wait a while, but try login to check the left menu in Gemini. If you find Notebooks, it means rollout to you.
