summer is comingg
Summer is a wonderful time to enjoy outdoor activities, but it’s vital to be aware of UV radiation’s impact on your skin. The World Health Organization’s UV Index (UVI) indicates that levels can reach up to 9 or higher during peak hours, which is classified as 'Very High' or 'Extreme'. This means sunburn can develop quickly, so proper sun protection is essential. Personally, I always check the daily UV Index before heading outside. On days when the UVI is above 7, I make sure to apply broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher every two hours, wear protective clothing, sunglasses, and a wide-brimmed hat. Avoiding direct sun exposure between 10 AM and 4 PM, when UV rays are strongest, also helps protect my skin. If you're interested in tanning, consider safer alternatives such as gradual sun exposure combined with moisturizers that help maintain skin hydration and health. Remember to listen to your skin and never stay out so long that you risk burning. Tanning oils with SPF can offer some protection but are not a substitute for sunscreen. Taking these precautions helps me enjoy tanning and summer activities without compromising my skin’s health. Always be mindful of your body’s signals and prioritize sun safety to make the most of the sunny season.
