They run toward what others fear — with no promise of return.

They battle heat, smoke, collapse, and chaos — not for fame, but for duty.

This is more than a day on the calendar.

It’s a global salute to sacrifice, courage, and unwavering humanity.

Established in 1999 after the Linton wildfire in Australia, International Firefighters’ Day also coincides with Saint Florian’s Day, the patron saint of firefighters — a symbol of protection, bravery, and honor.
