Your past your 20’s so… what’s next?

As you move beyond your twenties, your skin's needs change due to factors such as slower cell turnover, decreased collagen production, and environmental stressors. I realized this when I stopped following skincare tutorials made by 20-year-olds and started customizing my routine according to what my skin actually needed. One important shift is focusing on hydration and barrier repair. I began incorporating gentle cleansers, nourishing moisturizers with ceramides and hyaluronic acid, and sunscreen daily to protect my skin from sun damage. I also added antioxidants like vitamin C to combat free radicals and brighten my complexion. Additionally, I pay attention to exfoliation, but with caution. Instead of harsh scrubs, I opt for chemical exfoliants like AHAs and BHAs that promote cell renewal without irritation. This has helped reduce dullness and fine lines without compromising my skin’s natural barrier. It's crucial to avoid comparing your skin to that of someone in their 20s since your skin’s behavior evolves with age. Embracing this change and adjusting your routine accordingly makes a huge difference. Also, maintaining a healthy lifestyle—balanced diet, adequate sleep, managing stress, and regular exercise—complements your skincare regimen wonderfully. In my experience, the key is to listen to your skin and not rely solely on generic advice meant for younger skin. Embrace your skin’s journey beyond your 20s, and you’ll find that your skin can still be healthy, glowing, and beautiful at any age.
