Don't just rush through; take your time to imagine the history that unfolded there, with the Puerto Rican flag waving proudly overhead. It’s truly a majestic experience. Then there's Old San Juan itself – a kaleidoscope of colorful historic buildings with charming balconies that invite you to peek inside. Every corner holds a surprise! I loved finding those tucked-away outdoor cafes with their cheerful red umbrellas, perfect for a coffee break with an ocean view. The atmosphere is just incomparable. Keep an eye out for unique street art and characterful details, like that rustic metal gate I spotted, completely covered in eccentric stickers and decals – it really added to the city's quirky charm. You'll want to wander endlessly through the cobblestone streets. And don't be afraid to duck into a side street – that's often where some of the best discoveries are made. From tasting delicious mofongo to simply soaking in the lively atmosphere, San Juan is an unforgettable experience. I'm already dreaming of my next visit!
