I’m a yappaholic
Being open and expressive, much like the term 'yappaholic' suggests, has been a profound part of my self-discovery journey. Initially, constant talking and sharing made me feel exposed and vulnerable, sometimes even helpless. However, I learned that this honesty is not a weakness but a method of cultivating awareness and solutions for my personal struggles. Often, we avoid expressing our true feelings because of fear—fear of judgment or rejection. But embracing vulnerability allows us to connect more deeply with others and with ourselves. Through this process, I realized the importance of discerning intentions behind communications—not every interaction is meant to hurt or expose us but can be an opportunity for love and understanding. The journey also taught me resilience. Like the fruits of faith, consistent trust in oneself is necessary to navigate life's challenges. Sometimes, you need to remove distractions and focus inwardly to heal and grow. It’s vital to celebrate progress, no matter how small, to build stamina and nurture your well-being. I also discovered the power of self-compassion and forgiveness—both towards myself and others—helping me to leave behind resentment and frustration. This approach not only preserves my humanity but also enhances my capacity for empathy and kindness. In practice, I try to lean into moments of discomfort instead of isolating myself. By doing so, I sharpen my awareness of temptations and negative patterns, giving me the strength to change and resist what no longer serves me. Overall, being a ‘yappaholic’ is more than just talking; it’s about engaging deeply with your own story, refining your understanding, and embracing the lessons from every interaction. This path leads to a truly authentic and resilient self.
