การตามรอยหลวงปู่ดู่พรหมปัญโญ คือการนำคติธรรมและคำสอนของท่านมาเป็นแนวทางในการดำเนินชีวิตให้สอดคล้องกับธรรมะและปฏิบัติอย่างจริงจังและต่อเนื่อง หลวงปู่ดู่เน้นย้ำเรื่องการเจริญไตรสิกขา ได้แก่ ศีล สมาธิ และปัญญาเป็นหลักสำคัญที่ช่วยให้จิตใจเข้มแข็ง ลดละความฟุ้งซ่าน และเห็นความจริงของโลกตามสภาพธรรมชาติ ในส่วนของศีล แม้ศีลจะพร่องบ้างก็ยังดีกว่าปราศจากศีลเลย ท่านจึงชี้ให้เราเริ่มต้นด้วยสิ่งที่พอทำได้ ค่อย ๆ พัฒนาศีล 5 ให้ครบถ้วนในชีวิตประจำวัน เพื่อเป็นรากฐานที่มั่นคงในการปฏิบัติตน ส่วนสมาธิและปัญญานั้น ต้องทำด้วยความสม่ำเสมอ ไม่ใช่แบบไฟไหม้ฟาง และขยายการภาวนาให้กลายเป็นกิจวัตรประจำวันที่ตื่นตัวตลอดเวลา การพิจารณาไตรลักษณ์และระลึกถึงความตายช่วยเสริมให้เกิดปัญญาลึกซึ้งขึ้น ท่านหลวงปู่ยังสอนให้เรามีสันโดษ ไม่ฟุ้งเฟ้อในทางวัตถุ อย่ายึดถือความร่ำรวยเป็นเป้าหมายหลัก แต่ให้ยึดถือความดีเป็นพื้นฐาน เพราะความมั่งมีและความดีทรงอยู่ร่วมกันได้ หากเรามีฐานที่ดี ปัจจัยทางการเงินก็จะไม่เป็นอุปสรรคหรือภัย ในเรื่องของการดำรงชีวิตทางโลก หลวงปู่ดู่สอนให้เหยียบเรือสองแคม กล่าวคือ อยู่ในโลกด้วยสติและปัญญา ไม่ทำร้ายโลกและไม่ละเลยธรรมะ พร้อมกันนี้ ยังให้เราขยันทำหน้าที่ที่ดีในบทบาทต่างๆ เช่น พ่อแม่ ลูก สามีภรรยา และลูกจ้าง เพื่อรักษาความสมดุลระหว่างโลกและธรรมไว้ ความดีและปัญญายังจำเป็นต้องมีเมตตา แต่เมตตาที่ถูกต้องตามคำสอนจะต้องไม่พาให้เราตกในความประมาทหรือหลงผิด รู้จักกาลเทศะในการทำความดี และมีความอ่อนน้อมถ่อมตนเสมอ สุดท้าย หลวงปู่ดู่พรหมปัญโญเตือนให้เราอย่าประมาท มั่นคงในพระรัตนตรัย และหมั่นเตือนตนเองให้ละโกรธ โลภ และหลง เพราะเวลาของชีวิตนั้นมีจำกัด จึงควรเร่งเร้าในการปฏิบัติธรรมเพื่อความสงบสุขในชีวิตจริง หลักคำสอนและคติธรรมของหลวงปู่คู่พรหมปัญโญ นี้ยังคงเป็นที่พึ่งและแนวทางคำสอนที่ลึกซึ้ง ให้ผู้ปฏิบัติตามได้ตระหนักรู้ตนและใช้ชีวิตอย่างมีคุณค่าตามหลักธรรมอย่างแท้จริง
