Philodendron rooting and unfurling timelapse 🍃

It's always such a joy to watch new life unfurl, isn't it? My recent philodendron water propagation timelapse truly captured the magic of those first few days. Fill it with fresh, room-temperature water. Place your cutting in the water, making sure the nodes are submerged. Tips for Successful Rooting: Water Changes: This is crucial! Change the water every 3-5 days, or whenever it starts to look cloudy. Fresh water provides oxygen and prevents bacterial growth. Some people even like to use filtered water, but tap water that's been left out for 24 hours (to dissipate chlorine) works just fine for me. Lighting: Place your propagation station in a spot with bright, indirect light. Too much direct sun can scorch the leaves or heat the water too much, but too little light will slow down root growth. Patience is Key: Don't get discouraged if you don't see roots immediately. For philodendrons, it can take anywhere from a week to a few weeks for roots to appear, and sometimes even longer for them to be substantial enough for potting. My timelapse showed roots emerging in just 5 days, but that's often a fast start! Once the roots are about 1-2 inches long, your cutting is ready to be transferred to soil. Light: They thrive in bright, indirect light, similar to their propagation needs. Watering: Water thoroughly when the top inch or two of soil feels dry. They don't like to sit in soggy soil, so good drainage is essential. Humidity: While they appreciate higher humidity, they are quite tolerant of average household levels.
