"Help us to help our homeless furbies "
🙏When temperatures plunged to a life-threatening 10 degrees last night, shelters were full, and James, a homeless veteran, was stuck outside. He credits his survival solely to his two companions, Buster and Lady.
A local outreach worker snapped the main image during a wellness check. The dogs, rather than seeking their own shelter, had instinctively curled themselves around James's vital organs—his chest and neck—creating a living thermal barrier against the freezing concrete and air. James told the worker, "We keep each other alive. I feed them before I feed myself, and they keep me from freezing."
The image highlights the unbreakable bond where resources are scarce but love is abundant. The inset photo shows community members responding with aid the next morning, ensuring both the man and his lifesaving dogs made it through another day. Dogs are our true lifeline which we have no idea because of lack of understanding them. Whether they are homeless or abandoned, they have unconditional love and will die next to you. Not many of humans have that commitment. Please help those in need, adopt and save a life! God bless you from all our veterans and us since we are retired service members doing our job to protect the innocence of this world!
