Turkish Airlines is not for the weak
IYKYK… Turkish Airlines is not for the weak. Who wants a storytime? 😀✈️
You know how some trips just stick with you? My recent experience with Turkish Airlines definitely falls into that category. When I first saw the original post saying “Turkish Airlines is not for the weak,” I instantly related! My twin and I, on our “Twins in The City” adventure, had a flight with them that turned into quite the journey – a real “FORESHADOWING EDITION” of what travel can sometimes throw at you. We chose them because, let's be honest, the prices were super competitive for our international flight to İstanbul. But then the questions started popping up in my head: “Is Turkish Airlines safe?”, “How reliable are they really?”, and “Is Turkish Air a good airline for such a long journey?” Before booking, I'd scoured reviews, just like many of you are probably doing now. There were mixed opinions, as with any major airline. Some praised their wide network and competitive fares, while others hinted at long layovers or occasional service hiccups. The “why is Turkish Airlines so cheap” query often came up, suggesting some people felt a bit wary. I kept telling myself, “It's a major international carrier, it must be safe,” but that little voice of doubt lingered. Our particular flight involved a rather tight connection in İstanbul, which, for a pair like us, felt like a mini-marathon through a bustling airport. It wasn't just the sheer size, but the unexpected gate change that had us sprinting with our carry-ons! That's where the “not for the weak” really kicked in – you need your wits about you and a good pair of walking shoes! We joked it was our “FORESHADOWING EDITION” for the rest of our trip, preparing us for anything! From my perspective, the flight operations felt perfectly safe. The pilots were professional, and the cabin crew ensured all safety procedures were followed diligently. I never once felt my safety was compromised. So, for those asking “is Turkish Airlines safe?”, I'd say yes, based on my experience. The crew was generally efficient, though perhaps not overly warm, which is fine for me. They handled the high volume of passengers well. We had a minor issue with a meal preference, but it was resolved. This isn't a luxury experience, but it's certainly functional. The seats on our international flight were standard economy – decent legroom for me but might be tight for taller individuals. The in-flight entertainment system was robust, and we appreciated the provided amenities. The catering was quite good, actually, better than some other airlines I've flown. The general food service was a pleasant surprise. So, is Turkish Airlines good for international flights? My honest take is yes, with a few caveats. If you're looking for an affordable way to get to your destination, and you're prepared for potentially busy airports or a more straightforward service style, then it's a solid option. It might not be the most luxurious journey, and you might need a bit of resilience (hence “not for the weak”!), but it gets the job done safely and efficiently. For my twin and I, it was an adventure, and we'd consider flying them again, knowing what to expect. Just be prepared for an active travel day, especially if you have a tight connection!
