And for for me, finding the perfect hairstyle that's cute, comfy, and stays put through all the cheering (or playing!) is a must. Like the OCR said, "Game day hair grwm!!!" – it's all about getting ready to feel good and look good. I've totally "Decided I'm not a bun girlie," so I'm always on the hunt for fresh gameday hairstyles that aren't just a basic bun. Especially for us brown hair girls, sometimes a simple bun can just disappear or feel too plain. When I'm thinking about hairstyles for volleyball games or just cheering from the stands, I need something that can handle a lot of movement without falling apart. Here are a few of my go-to gameday hair ideas, perfect for keeping your hair out of your face and looking super cute: First up, Braids are your best friend! I absolutely love a classic French braid or Dutch braids. They look intricate but are surprisingly easy once you get the hang of them. For brown hair, braids really show off the different tones and textures, making your style pop. You can do a single braid down the back, or two pigtail braids for a super sporty and secure look. They hold up so well, whether you're spiking a ball or jumping up and down for a touchdown! Next, consider a High Ponytail with a Twist. A basic high ponytail is good, but you can elevate it. Try adding a small braid along your hairline before gathering your hair into the pony, or even doing a 'bubble ponytail' by adding elastic bands down the length of your pony. This adds a fun, playful vibe and makes it feel more intentional than just throwing your hair up. It’s also incredibly practical for keeping all your hair securely off your neck and face. Don't forget about Half-Up, Half-Down styles! If you want some hair down but still need it out of your face, a half-updo can be perfect. I often do a half-up high pony or a small half-up braid at the crown of my head. You can even add some small clips or a cute ribbon to match your team colors. This style is great for showing off your length while still being functional for a game. To make sure your gameday hairstyle lasts, a few little tricks do help. Always start with dry hair, and if it's a bit oily, some dry shampoo can add volume and grip. A good strong-hold hairspray is a must-have, especially around your hairline. And invest in quality hair ties that won't snap mid-game. For us brown hair girls, sometimes finding hair ties that blend in can be tricky, so clear elastics or ones that match your hair color are perfect. So, if you're like me and "Decided I'm not a bun girlie," give these gameday hairstyles a try! They're simple, stylish, and perfect for any game day. Let me know which one you try first!
