75 Days of Self Discipline

hello and welcome to my little online diary 🌻

Today is day 1 of choosing to better myself as a woman, friend, sister, and everything thereafter. For too long i have been so wrapped up in myself, limited to a box of ‘safety’ created by anxiety, low self esteem, and the fear of being noticed by others. I have made excuses for where I’m at in life because of past trauma. Over and over i would tell myself “i could be so much worse, and i’m doing the best i can with the tools that i have’ and it has provided me with no favors. It allowed me to be complacent and reckless, validating my emotions even when they weren’t truth. SO taking inspiration from the 75 hard challenge, I have created a list touching different areas of my life that i hope to see improvement in over the days to come. The rules are as follows:

✨MOVE YOUR BODY

✨be present in the lives of those i care about

✨eat for internal wellness

✨less doom scrolling, more hobby nurturing

From my own experience, committing to small but consistent actions each day helps build momentum and gradually reshape my mindset. For instance, denying myself instant gratification initially feels tough, but over time it trained me to appreciate patience and long-term rewards instead of short-term comfort. Incorporating financial hygiene into my routine also made a noticeable difference; regularly reviewing my spending and budgeting boosted my confidence and reduced stress. Moving my body every day became more than just exercise—it was a mental reset. Whether it was a walk, yoga, or dancing to music, it helped clear anxious thoughts and lifted my mood. Equally important was being present in the lives of loved ones, which meant consciously shifting focus from screens to real conversations and meaningful experiences. This nurtured connections and reminded me that growth is supported by community. Lastly, replacing doom scrolling with hobby nurturing opened a door to creativity and relaxation I hadn’t realized I was missing. Dedicating time to interests like reading, journaling, or crafting kept my mind engaged and less prone to negativity. In essence, blending these mindful habits over 75 days can help break free from complacency, build self-esteem, and foster holistic wellness. Remember Toni Morrison’s words: "You wanna fly, you got to give up the sh*t that weighs you down"—and sometimes, that means starting one intentional day at a time.
