How to program a workout for MAX GAINS

First you want to start with stretching, mobility and activation of the muscle group you are going to work that day. If I was hitting glutes, a good activation warm up would be hip abductions.

The beginning of your lift should have the compound movements, which take up the most energy and recruit the most muscles. If I was hitting glutes some compound movements I would do would be squat, hip thrusts, RDL's, deadlifts, etc.

Save isolated and bilateral movements for the end of your workout. Exercises I would do if I was hitting glutes would be lunges, variations of lunges, bulgarian split squats, kickbacks, step ups, abductions, back extensions, etc.

If your target is glutes, incorporate hip abductions to activate the muscles effectively. Starting with compound movements is vital as they recruit multiple muscle groups and consume the most energy. For glutes, essential compound lifts include squats, deadlifts, hip thrusts, and Romanian deadlifts (RDLs). These exercises lay a solid foundation for strength building. After completing the compound lifts, shift to isolated or bilateral movements, which are critical for sculpting specific muscles. Examples for glute days include variations of lunges, Bulgarian split squats, kickbacks, step-ups, and abductions. This strategic approach ensures that your workouts are comprehensive, focusing on both strength and aesthetics. Incorporating these principles into your training program can significantly enhance your results, leading to swift and effective muscle growth. Monitoring your progress and adjusting your routine will further contribute to your success in achieving max gains.
