What they don’t tell you on your fitness journey..

When I first started my fitness journey, I was overwhelmed, confused, and honestly… doing a lot of things wrong 😅

I thought cardio was the answer to everything. I avoided carbs. I was scared of lifting heavy. And I definitely wasn’t eating enough protein.

So if you’re just starting out — or you’ve been at it for a while but feel stuck — here are 5 things I wish someone told me sooner 👇

1️⃣ Lifting won’t make you bulky. Eating in a surplus will.

2️⃣ You don’t need hours of cardio to lose fat.

3️⃣ Protein is key for building muscle and staying full.

4️⃣ Progress takes TIME. Stop quitting every time it gets hard.

5️⃣ Consistency will always beat perfection.

Swipe through and save this post so you can come back to it when you need a little reminder. 💬

Which one hit home for you? Let me know in the comments! ⬇️

... Read moreStarting a fitness journey can be daunting, filled with confusion and misinformation. Many beginners believe that lifting weights will lead to a bulky appearance, but this is a myth. In reality, consuming excess calories is what leads to unwanted weight gain. Incorporating weightlifting not only helps build muscle but also increases metabolism over time. Another common misconception is the need to perform extensive cardio for fat loss. High-intensity interval training (HIIT) can be much more effective in a shorter period. Additionally, balancing cardio with strength training can yield faster results and enhance fat loss while preserving muscle. Protein intake is critical for anyone looking to build lean muscle. It not only aids in muscle recovery but also keeps you satiated, making it easier to manage hunger and cravings. Prioritizing protein in your diet will support your fitness goals more effectively. Progress is rarely linear. Many individuals face plateaus or slow periods that can be discouraging. It’s essential to stay consistent and trust the process, as fitness transformation takes time. Giving up at difficult moments is counterproductive and can hinder long-term success. Finally, the pursuit of perfection can be overwhelming. Instead, focus on consistency. Establishing a routine that you can stick to is more impactful than aiming for perfection every single day. Celebrate small wins, stay motivated, and remember that every bit of progress counts in your fitness journey.

Being a 5am gym girly… what they don’t tell you…
Once you start and stay consistent, you won’t want to go any other time. There’s less people so less pressure. I’ve found it’s also mostly older people and everyone is friendly. I personally feel like I have more energy when I make it to the gym in the morning than the days I miss to sleep in.
