Remote Life
I am a WFH girly but some times I need to get out of the house!
Today I decided to get cute and go to a new coffee shop which I will probably be going back to.
If you’re in Houston, what are some of your fav remote locations to work?

Embracing the 'Remote Life' has its perks, like ditching the commute and setting your own schedule. But let's be real, sometimes the walls of your home office can start to close in, right? That's exactly why I love to break free and explore new remote work spots. It’s not just about a change of scenery; it’s about boosting creativity, fighting off cabin fever, and sometimes, just getting a really good cup of coffee that I didn't have to brew myself! Finding that perfect remote workspace outside your home can truly transform your day. For me, heading to a coffee shop, like the new one I discovered in Houston, is often the ideal solution. But it's not just coffee shops! Libraries, co-working spaces (even some free community ones!), or even a quiet corner in a park with good Wi-Fi can be fantastic alternatives. When I'm on the hunt for a new spot, I always check for a few non-negotiables: reliable Wi-Fi, accessible power outlets (a must for my laptop!), comfortable seating, and a noise level that allows me to focus without feeling isolated. I often use Google Maps or local blogs to scout out highly-rated spots, paying attention to reviews that mention good working environments. Beyond the location itself, preparing for a day of remote work outside the house is key. I usually pack a small bag with essentials: my laptop and charger, noise-canceling headphones (a lifesaver!), a water bottle, and maybe a small snack. Planning my tasks for the day beforehand helps me stay focused and make the most of my time in a new environment. I also try to pick off-peak hours for popular spots to ensure I can grab a good table and won't feel rushed. And let's not forget the outfit! While comfort is paramount for my 'Remote Life,' I still like to feel put-together when I'm working out. Opting for something comfortable yet stylish, like a casual dress or a chic top with my favorite jeans (hello, Levi's!), always makes me feel more confident and ready to tackle my to-do list. Layers are also a good idea, as coffee shops can vary wildly in temperature. A cozy cardigan or light jacket (maybe from Zara if I'm feeling fancy!) keeps me comfortable no matter what the thermostat says. So, whether you're a fellow WFH warrior in Houston or just looking for ways to spice up your remote work routine, I highly recommend stepping out. It's amazing what a fresh perspective, a new ambiance, and a perfectly brewed latte can do for your productivity and mood. Now, I'm still eager to hear from the amazing Lemon8 community: if you're in Houston, what are your absolute favorite remote work locations? I'm especially keen to find quiet cafes with great natural light or perhaps a hidden gem with a unique vibe!
