Buy or bye touchland
I’ve been seeing these all over lemon8 so I figured I’d give them a try. Sorry if you disagree with any of these, I’m just being honest to my opinion! I really wouldn’t recommend getting the watermelon one. Maybe it’s just the one I purchased but I genuinely don’t understand how people like it, everyone I’ve showed it to agreed with me so maybe I just purchased a bad one? 😭

Like so many of you, I'd been seeing Touchland hand sanitizers pop up on my feed constantly. The sleek design and interesting scents had me curious, but also wondering if they were truly worth the hype and the higher price tag compared to regular sanitizers. I finally caved and decided to do my own 'Buy or Bye' review, picking up a couple of their popular options, including the much-talked-about Blue Sandalwood and the intriguing Wild Watermelon. First, let's talk about the Blue Sandalwood Hydrating Hand Sanitizer. This one was an absolute BUY!! for me, and the OCR even highlights that it 'Smells amazing!' I completely agree. The scent is sophisticated, not overpowering, and leaves a really pleasant, clean aroma that lasts just long enough without clinging too heavily. It’s definitely one of the most popular Touchland hand sanitizers for a reason. Beyond the scent, the power mist delivery system is fantastic. It dispenses a fine, even spray, covering your hands thoroughly without feeling sticky or leaving residue. Each 1 FL OZ (30 mL) mist is said to deliver around 500 sprays, which helps justify the cost a bit when you think about how many uses you get. My hands felt genuinely hydrated after using it, not stripped and dry like with some other alcohol-based sanitizers. This addresses the 'is touchland hand sanitizer effective' and 'is touchland non toxic' queries to some extent, as it feels gentle. Now for the Wild Watermelon Hydrating Hand Sanitizer, which was a definite BYE! from me. The OCR perfectly captures my experience: 'hated the smell of this it actually smells so bad that I don't use it.' I really wanted to like it—I enjoy fruity scents—but this one missed the mark entirely. It had a very artificial, almost chemical watermelon smell that was off-putting. I even had friends try it, and they all agreed it wasn't pleasant. It made me wonder if I just got a bad batch, but based on my experience, I couldn't recommend it. It's a shame because the mist itself still felt hydrating and convenient, but the scent was a dealbreaker. Many people ask, 'why is Touchland hand sanitizer so expensive?' It's a valid question. From my perspective, part of the cost comes from the innovative design of the blue Touchland case itself. It's slim, chic, and fits easily into any bag or pocket without leaking. The mist pump mechanism is also superior to typical gel dispensers. Then there’s the formulation: they boast 70% ethyl alcohol, which is effective at killing germs, combined with ingredients like aloe vera and essential oils that aim to keep your hands moisturized. So, while the initial purchase price is higher, the quality of the dispenser, the hydrating formula, and the sheer number of sprays per unit (500 sprays!) contribute to its value. It feels more like a personal care item than just a utilitarian sanitizer. Regarding whether it's 'non-toxic,' 'safe,' or 'effective,' Touchland states their products are dermatologically tested, vegan, gluten-free, and paraben-free. The 70% ethyl alcohol content meets CDC recommendations for effectiveness against germs. As for safety, it's designed for external use, and the hydrating ingredients are a plus. I haven't experienced any irritation, and my hands feel clean and soft after use, which is exactly what I look for in a hand sanitizer. For anyone concerned about a 'light blue Touchland' or any specific color, they often release limited edition cases, adding to their collectible appeal. Overall, my experience was a mixed bag, but leaning positive thanks to the stellar Blue Sandalwood. While the Wild Watermelon didn't work for me, I'm still eager to try other scents like Coconut or Aloe. If you’re looking for a stylish, effective, and hydrating hand sanitizer and are willing to invest a little more for the experience, Touchland is definitely worth considering. Just choose your scents wisely!
