Depending on your choices, you can completely derail Volo's 'interrogation' and sometimes even cause Gribbo to just completely lose it or give up. I remember one playthrough where my Tav, who I named 'Layla,' used Intimidation and Charm in just the right way, and Gribbo just seemed to break, spouting nonsense or just groaning in despair while Volo looked utterly bewildered. It’s those player-driven deviations that make these small encounters so rewarding. It’s not just a static cutscene; it’s a dynamic interaction where your choices actually matter, even if it's just for a laugh. You can convince Gribbo to spill the beans, or even threaten Volo himself! Beyond the Volo interaction, Gribbo is also a great example of the plight of many goblins in the camp – caught between fear of the Absolute and fear of their leaders. He’s a small detail, but he adds so much flavor to the world-building, showing the different facets of goblin society. His fear is palpable, making his comedic suffering even funnier in a dark fantasy way. If you're exploring the Goblin Camp, make sure to seek out Gribbo and Volo. Don't rush past them! Take your time, listen to their dialogue, and maybe even try to interact with them yourself. You might just uncover some of the funniest, most unexpected dialogue in the game.
