Juneteenth HBG Kickoff 2026
Juneteenth HBG Kickoff on Fox 43-Wpmt
I appear in several parts of the interview, and I’m especially honored to have a close-up moment as I close the segment dancing. It truly meant so much to be part of something that reflected the positivity, purpose, and incredible energy that filled the room that day.
I’ve combined the Fox 43 feature with my full performance from the Strawberry Square stage to share the complete experience. The music in this edit has been adjusted for copyright purposes, but the spirit and intention remain the same — and it all flows beautifully together.
Thankful to YPOC and everyone committed to uplifting, educating, and celebrating our community.
More moments like this. Together.
Being part of the Juneteenth HBG Kickoff offers a remarkable opportunity to engage deeply with the rich history and ongoing legacy of the Juneteenth celebrations. This annual event not only honors the emancipation of African American slaves but also serves as a platform where the community unites to share culture, art, and stories that empower future generations. The involvement of Young Professionals of Color - Greater Harrisburg (YPOC) adds a dynamic energy and focus on leadership development, community service, and cultural education. Events like the kickoff at Strawberry Square create a space where young leaders can express themselves through music, dance, and meaningful dialogue. I recall feeling a profound sense of connection and pride while participating in this event, especially during the performances where every movement and note told a story of resilience and hope. Watching the segment on Fox 43- WPMT further amplifies the message, reaching a wider audience and inspiring more people to join in celebrating Black history and culture. Adjusting the music for copyright reasons did not diminish the spirit of the performance; instead, it highlighted how adaptable and resourceful artists can be in preserving the event's meaning. It’s heartening to see how these efforts contribute to creating a more inclusive and educated community. If you haven’t yet, attending or watching such events around Juneteenth can be incredibly enriching. They foster a better understanding of history intertwined with current social progress and encourage active participation in shaping a more equitable society. Moments like these truly remind us that celebrations coupled with education can ignite lasting positive change.
