I WIN Every Challenge
Deep gratitude to Ivory Waters-Maddox (@blkberrysheep ) from @ypochbg 🤍✨ for creating such a beautiful, heart-centered self-love space at @bodhiyogawellness 🧘🏽♀️🌱
After the workshop, with the permission and generosity of the studio owners, I was given space to do what self-love looks like for me: movement, freedom, and expression through dance with my fan veils 🩰💫
During the workshop, we were asked to create a self-love “coupon.” My mind felt a little overwhelmed at first—but then I chose simplicity, and that choice felt powerful 🔥
Power doesn’t always mean doing more. Sometimes it means honoring what feels true and grounded in the moment 🌍💛
As a Buddhist, movement is part of my meditation 🕊️
I was introduced to Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, a chant from Nichiren Buddhism that reminds us of our innate worth, resilience, and limitless potential 🌸
Dancing here felt like prayer in motion—rooted, intentional, and free ✨
Thank you, Ivory, for holding space 🤍
Thank you, @bodhiyogawellness and @sean_poets for welcoming expression and allowing art to breathe here 🌿
This was self-love, community, and healing—felt deeply.
Namaste 🙏

Having participated in various self-love and mindfulness workshops myself, I can truly relate to the profound impact that intentional movement and meditation can bring. In my experience, creating a personal ritual—whether through dance, chanting, or simply mindful breathing—helps anchor us in the present moment, fostering self-compassion and inner peace. The practice of Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, introduced here, resonates deeply as a powerful reminder of our inherent value and strength. Chanting or repeating affirmations like this during movement transforms the physical act into a spiritual experience, almost like a moving prayer. It encourages embracing vulnerability and expressing authentic emotions. I appreciate how this approach prioritizes honoring what feels true over forcing effort, highlighting that self-love is not about doing more but being more present and intentional. The use of fan veils in dance adds a unique creative element, expressing freedom and fluidity in movement which can be incredibly healing. Moreover, being part of a welcoming community that supports artistic expression can significantly enhance the healing process. Spaces like Bodhi Yoga Wellness provide not only physical venues but emotional support through shared experiences and collective mindfulness. For anyone exploring self-love, integrating movement meditation or chanting into your routine might be a transformative practice. Start simple—a few minutes of mindful movement or a few repeated phrases—allowing yourself to connect with your body and spirit gently and authentically.
