you deserve a life that feels good to you.
i don’t know who needs to hear this, but sis… i’ve spent so much of my life trying to make everyone else happy. i’d say “yes” when i really wanted to say “no,” show up for people who wouldn’t even send a text, and put my own needs at the bottom of the list. and let me tell you… it’s exhausting.
one day, i caught myself looking in the mirror and thinking, “whose life am i even living?” it hit me: i’ve been a side character in my own story, and i was tired. tired of being the “reliable one,” tired of pouring from an empty cup, tired of shrinking myself so others could feel whole.
so, i made a choice. i stopped apologizing for taking up space. i started saying “no” without explaining myself. i realized self-love isn’t selfish—it’s survival. and for the first time in a long time, i feel like i’m breathing again.
i’m learning to put myself first without guilt. to let go of what doesn’t serve me. to live life on my terms, unapologetically. it’s not easy, but it’s worth it.
if you’ve been feeling like this too, just know you’re not alone. it’s okay to start over. it’s okay to choose yourself. because sis, you deserve a life that feels good to you.
✨ let me know if you’ve been in this season, too. how are you choosing yourself today?
