tbh, i don’t even know how to answer that anymore.

because if i say “i’m fine,” i’m lying. and if i say “i’m tired,” i’ll have to explain a kind of exhaustion that sleep can’t fix.

truth is… i’ve been carrying too much for too long.

i’ve gotten so good at making it look easy that people forget to ask if i’m okay. but what they don’t see is the weight…the kind that doesn’t sit on your shoulders but in your chest. the kind that keeps you up at night, staring at the ceiling, wondering when it’ll get easier.

strength doesn’t mean i don’t struggle. it just means i struggle in silence. because somewhere along the way, i convinced myself that asking for help makes me a burden. that admitting i’m not okay is a sign of weakness. that if i put it down, even for a second, everything will fall apart…including me.

but who’s holding me while i hold everything else?

and maybe you feel that too. like you’re always the strong one, the dependable one, the one who keeps it together for everyone else. but when do you get to fall apart? when do you get to exhale without worrying about who’s watching?

but here’s what God has been reminding me—i was never meant to carry it alone.

“Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” – Matthew 11:28

that verse hits different when you’re at your breaking point. because God sees the weight you’re carrying. the tears you don’t cry because you don’t have time to fall apart. the battles you fight in your mind while showing up for everyone else. and He’s saying, you don’t have to do this on your own.

God is still your strength. He is still your peace. He is still your rest. and no matter how much you’ve been pushing, holding, carrying… He’s waiting for you to put it down at His feet.

so if you’re reading this, let this be your sign. you don’t have to be everything for everyone. you don’t have to prove your strength by suffering in silence. you don’t have to keep carrying what God is asking you to release.

put it down, sis.

just for a moment. just to breathe. just to rest in Him.

... Read moreIn a world that often equates strength with silence, it's vital to recognize the importance of vulnerability. Many of us carry unspoken burdens, convinced that sharing our struggles makes us weak. This notion can lead to emotional isolation and burnout. It’s crucial to understand that asking for help is not a burden to others, but an invitation for connection and support. Faith plays a substantial role in easing these emotional weights. The biblical reminder from Matthew 11:28 underscores that everyone has the right to seek rest. It serves as a powerful affirmation that even the strongest individuals can lean on God during their hardest times. Allowing ourselves to express fatigue or need can foster deeper connections and create a supportive environment. Additionally, embracing vulnerability opens the door to authentic community. Sharing our struggles might inspire others to do the same, leading to a culture where it’s okay to feel overwhelmed or tired. Topics related to self-care, spiritual wellness, and mental health awareness are also gaining traction, allowing for broader discussions on how we can support one another through challenging times. So let this be a call to action for anyone who feels the weight of their unspoken struggles. Your vulnerability is a strength that can create ripples of support in your community. You don't have to carry your burdens alone. Take a moment today, put down the weight, and breathe. Embrace the rest that comes from faith, knowing you are supported and understood.

No, I just keep saying I'm fine. Overwhelmed and burned out, and the one person I'm supposed to be open with and share everything is causing the majority of the pain 😢
