I have been using these two milky toners for a long time! I actually love both of them.

.

My skin has been sensitive lately, and my skin reacts differently to both.

@rhode skin Glazing Milk gives that instant glazed glow, hydrating, luxe, and perfect under makeup, and the @byoma Milky Toner is barrier loving staple, soothing, lightweight, and wallet-friendly. Both hydrate, but Rhode’s for the glow-getters, Byoma’s for the sensitive skin savers.

... Read moreOkay, so we've talked about the Rhode Glazing Milk and Byoma Milky Toner, but let's dive even deeper into what 'skin glazing' really means and how I actually achieve that coveted look, especially with my skin being sensitive lately. For me, 'skin glazing' isn't just about a shiny finish; it's about skin that looks incredibly healthy, plump, and dewy, almost like a freshly glazed donut. It's this beautiful, hydrated glow that reflects light, making your skin look youthful and vibrant. If you are into Korean beauty, you've probably seen this trend everywhere, and for good reason! It’s all about layering hydration to create that luminous effect from within. My journey to skin glazing hasn't always been smooth, especially since my skin has been sensitive lately. I've learned that truly glazed skin starts with a strong skin barrier. This is where nourishing and hydrating milky toners become absolute game-changers. Beyond just the Rhode and Byoma options we discussed, the principle is the same: replenish moisture after cleansing. To get that full 'glazed' effect, I actually follow a few extra steps. After cleansing, I immediately go in with a hydrating toner – sometimes it’s the Byoma Milky Toner when my skin needs extra soothing, especially if I’ve had issues where other products might make my skin red. I've found that while the Rhode skin glazing milk gives that instant glow, sometimes it feels a bit too potent when my skin is truly reactive, almost like it burns my skin slightly if my barrier is compromised. In those moments, loving Byoma and its gentle, barrier-loving formula is key for me. After my toner, I layer on a hydrating serum, usually one with hyaluronic acid or polyglutamic acid. This really locks in the first layer of moisture. Then comes a rich, occlusive moisturizer to seal everything in. Sometimes, I'll even press a few drops of a facial oil on top, especially on my cheekbones and forehead, to enhance that dewy sheen. The key is to apply products while your skin is still slightly damp from the previous step – this helps them absorb better and creates a more seamless, glazed finish. For those of you with sensitive skin like mine, opting for milky toners that focus on barrier support, like Byoma, can make all the difference. It's about finding products that nourish and hydrate without stripping or irritating. And yes, the "$ vs $$" factor is real! While premium brands offer luxurious experiences, there are fantastic wallet-friendly options that deliver similar results. It doesn't always have to break the bank to get glowing. Another tip I've picked up is not to forget about sun protection. A good, dewy-finish SPF can add to that glazed look while protecting your healthy skin. And don't underestimate the power of internal hydration – drinking plenty of water truly contributes to overall skin health and that plump, juicy appearance we're aiming for. So, while products like Rhode Glazing Milk are amazing for an immediate glow, achieving consistent skin glazing, especially for sensitive skin, is a holistic approach. It’s a combination of gentle cleansing, strategic layering of nourishing and hydrating products (milky toners being a star!), and paying attention to your skin's unique needs. It's a routine that makes my skin feel as good as it looks, and that's the ultimate goal for me.
