One Day With me (Architect Life)
The diary of (me) an architect.
In one of my days, I started with a coffee.
Find a mild energy morning food to recharge your brain before you go to a hard fight. 😂😂
The smell of coffee slowly awakens the head of the brain.
I was looking at the morning light that reflected the glass of the building, thinking that today must be "still" than the work of asking.
Less than an hour into the office. The phone rang non-stop.
The client asked to solve the function again.
The budget was squeezed.
The structure needs to be adjusted.
I was staring at a new line over an old line.
Delete and draw again.
"Maybe architectural work is like life.
None of the lines were complete in the first place.
But every line we draw is a decision. "
In the evening, I looked at the solution, and the meeting, I felt, was not the best.
I listened to echoes from the team and the customers.
Some words are criticisms, some questions are wind words mixed together.
But every word is a view that sharpens the work a little
I looked again, not in the eyes of the designer.
But with the eyes of the workers,
Imagine the light hitting the wall.
The sound of footsteps walking through the hall.
Breath of space about to live
It may not be perfect yet.
But it's going in the right direction.
Sometimes the pride of an architect.
Not when everything's done.
But the moment we know
We don't stop developing our own lines.
I closed the computer slowly.
Tomorrow... I'll start with the same coffee.
And make it a little better. ☕️

ในฐานะคนที่เคยร่วมงานในแวดวงสถาปัตยกรรม ผมเข้าใจดีว่าการทำงานสถาปนิกไม่ได้มีแค่การออกแบบให้สวยงามเท่านั้น แต่ยังต้องเผชิญกับความท้าทายและการปรับเปลี่ยนอย่างต่อเนื่องจากความต้องการของลูกค้าและข้อจำกัดของงบประมาณ เหมือนกับที่บทความนี้บอกไว้ว่า "งานสถาปัตย์ก็เหมือนชีวิต" โดยไม่มีเส้นไหนสมบูรณ์ตั้งแต่แรก ทุกเส้นที่วาดลงไปล้วนเป็นการตัดสินใจที่สะท้อนถึงกระบวนการคิดและการแก้ไขปัญหา เมื่อผมได้เห็นแบบร่างและการแก้ไขหลายรอบ มันเหมือนกับการค้นหาทิศทางที่ลงตัวที่สุด ซึ่งต้องอาศัยความนิ่ง ความละเอียด และความอดทนในการทบทวนแบบอย่างถี่ถ้วน บางครั้งต้องถอยกลับไปมองภาพรวมของพื้นที่ด้วยสายตาของผู้ใช้งานจริง เช่น การพิจารณาถึงแสงธรรมชาติที่ตกกระทบผนัง หรือเสียงฝีเท้าที่เดินผ่านโถง เพื่อให้พื้นที่นั้นไม่ใช่แค่สวยงาม แต่ยังใช้งานได้จริงและเต็มไปด้วยชีวิตชีวา นอกจากนี้ การประชุมรับฟังความคิดเห็นจากทีมงานและลูกค้าเป็นจุดสำคัญที่ทำให้งานดีขึ้นเรื่อยๆ แม้จะมีทั้งคำติและคำถาม แต่ทุกคำสะท้อนล้วนมีคุณค่า เพราะช่วยชี้ให้เห็นข้อบกพร่องหรือเปิดมุมมองใหม่ๆ ที่ผู้ออกแบบอาจมองข้ามไป เหมือนการได้สะท้อนความคิดผ่านกระบวนการทำงานร่วมกัน การเลือกใช้วัสดุต่างๆ จากการรีเช็คลิสต์ (เช่นวัสดุ SKK ในแบบ) ก็เป็นสิ่งที่ต้องให้ความสำคัญ เพราะส่งผลต่อทั้งความสวยงามและความคงทนของงานสถาปัตยกรรม ผมขอสรุปว่าสำหรับสถาปนิกแล้ว ความภูมิใจไม่ได้มาจากผลงานที่เสร็จสมบูรณ์ในทันที หากแต่เกิดจากการเดินทางในการพัฒนา ฝึกฝน และไม่หยุดแก้ไขเพื่อให้ความคิดและเส้นสายบนแบบปลุกชีวิตให้พื้นที่นั้นมีความหมาย และทุกวันใหม่คือโอกาสที่จะเริ่มต้นด้วยกาแฟแก้วโปรด พร้อมแรงบันดาลใจใหม่ๆ เพื่อทำให้งานดีขึ้นกว่าวันก่อนๆ
