I miss this day.
Me and my boyfriend walked to the apple bees and theater nearby. (Walking in heals for two miles isn’t fun, he let me wear his shoes.) We watched spirited away for the first time.
Hey everyone! So many of you have been asking about fun date night ideas, and I just had to share about one of my absolute favorites. There's something truly special about combining a magical movie experience with some delicious food, and our recent Spirited Away date night perfectly hit the spot! We started our evening at Applebee's, and let me tell you, the food was a dream. We indulged in a fantastic sizzling skillet dish – it was packed with perfectly seasoned chicken and shrimp, tender broccoli, sautéed onions, and savory mushrooms. Seriously, it was so satisfying and definitely fueled us up for the adventure ahead. And you know I can't resist a pretty drink! I had this tall, gorgeous layered drink with a pink straw that was not only refreshing but also added a little extra sparkle to our dinner. It's those little details, from the delicious food to the presentation, that make a meal feel like a real treat. After our amazing dinner, it was time for the main event: watching Spirited Away for the very first time on the big screen! I've heard so much about this Studio Ghibli masterpiece, and it truly lived up to the hype. The animation, the storytelling, the incredible characters like Chihiro and Haku – it just transports you to another world. Having such a delightful meal before the movie made the whole experience even better; we were perfectly comfortable and settled in, ready to be immersed in the magic without any rumbling tummies. Speaking of comfort, getting to the theater was an adventure in itself! I decided to wear my favorite white heeled shoes, but walking two miles in them? Not the best plan, haha! Luckily, my amazing boyfriend is always thinking ahead and let me wear his shoes for part of the walk. It was such a sweet gesture and just goes to show that a great date isn't just about the grand plans, but the little moments of kindness and teamwork. Settling into those comfy movie seats after our little trek, knowing we had enjoyed such a great meal, made the movie even more rewarding. While we didn't have the famous feast from Spirited Away itself, our dinner certainly created a memorable culinary experience alongside the film. It made me think about how food and movies are so intertwined – whether it's the fantastical dishes shown on screen or the snacks and meals we share while watching. What are your favorite pre-movie meals or movie-inspired treats? I'd love to hear your ideas for making a movie night extra special!
