Labor Day weekend
📍 City/Country: Franklin Glade, TN
🌞 Day 1: Plan was to go to the beach at the lake. My husband goes to check in to see if we need to check in with our cards. Me and the kids are walking on down towards the lake. I completely missed the step down, and all my body weight went down on my left foot. I knew it was bad when it happened. I didn't cry, but I wanted to. It hurt so bad, then I rolled over to my right side and sprained my right ankle.
My husband and a park ranger carried me to the car. We went to the closest ER. We were about 3 hours from home. My foot was already starting to swell. I was told I had 3 fractures.
Once we got home, I followed up and they said it was a bad break and I would need surgery once the swelling went down.
Today, swelling has gone down quite a bit. My toes are still blue, but they xrayed again. I have 7 fractures. I'll need 3 plates and a screw in the next 1.5-2 weeks.
