Rating the MOST HYPED Mediterranean brunch café in SG⁉️

Finally trying this popular spot! 🤩 SAVE & SHARE this honest review & ratings! 😱 Was it worth the hype? 🤷🏻‍♀️

🍅 San Marzano Tomato & Burrata ($16)

topped with tangy and savory tomato sauce, paired with creamy burrata! sourdough had a pleasant crispy and chewy exterior, soft and fluffy interior! was pretty big in size too

🍳 Scrambled Eggs with Fennel Soaked in Chochugaru ($22)

thicc layer of creamy and buttery scrambled eggs, topped on a slice of signature sourdough and burnt tomato aioli! but the sourdough texture here was chewier than previous! chochugaru sauce had a metallic taste that we didn't enjoy

🍌 Banana Cake ($8)

one of the best ones I've had! pleasantly moist with a prominent banana sweetness, sandwiched with peanut butter caramel fudge for a sweet nuttiness! finished off with a savory & tangy vanilla mascarpone and crunchy peanuts on top! thicc & huge slice, hence the steep price

🧁 Cinnamon Rolls - Baklava Pistachio Praline ($8.30)

made with their homegrown sourdough starter & candied milk, but was a tad dry and too sweet! appreciated the adequate amount of sweet & nutty pistachio sauce though! topped with homemade pistachio praline & caramelized nuts (walnuts, pistachios & cashews)

☕️ Latte (Iced $6.50), Flat White (Hot $5.50)

bitter & acidic, which we didn't really fancy

... Read moreIf you're curious about chochugaru, a Korean chili powder known for its vibrant flavor, it's interesting to see it used in Singapore's Mediterranean brunch scene. In the scrambled eggs dish I tried, chochugaru was soaked in fennel and paired with burnt tomato aioli on sourdough. While the creamy eggs were delightful, the chochugaru added a metallic note that wasn't quite to my liking. For those wanting to try incorporating chochugaru at home, it can add a spicy kick and depth to many dishes—from scrambled eggs to stews and marinades. However, be mindful of its strong flavor and adjust the quantity to suit your palate. Beyond that, the café’s sourdough bread stood out with its pleasant crispiness and chewy texture, complementing the dishes well. The banana cake was a personal highlight—moist and sweet with a peanut butter caramel fudge that brought a rich nuttiness. If you’re visiting, expect a mix of hits and misses, especially if you’re sensitive to uncommon spice notes like those from chochugaru. The coffee offerings leaned towards bitter and acidic, so you might want to explore other drinks there or nearby. Overall, it's a spot worth visiting if you love Mediterranean-inspired brunches with creative twists—but keep an open mind about unique ingredients like chochugaru!
