Read moreモンステラの水差し(水耕栽培)でいちばん悩んだのが「メネデール入りの水、どれくらいで替えるのが正解?」問題でした。結論から言うと、我が家では“日数より水の状態”を優先すると失敗が減りました。見た目がクリアでも、においが出たり、瓶の内側がヌメっとしてきたら早めに交換しています。 ■メネデールの使い方(私のやり方) メネデールは濃くしたくなってしまうんですが、濃すぎは逆に心配なので基本は薄め。水耕栽培の立ち上げ(発根させたい時期)だけメネデール水にして、根が十分伸びて安定してきたら「毎回入れる」より「たまに入れる」くらいにしています。ガラス瓶だと水の濁りや根の色が見えやすいので管理がラクです。 ■根腐れを防ぐポイント ・水位は“根の下の方が浸かる程度”にして、茎(節)までドボンと入れない ・瓶の口が細いと空気がこもりやすいので、口が広めの容器に変えると改善することも ・水替えのついでに瓶を軽く洗って、ぬめりを残さない ・直射日光は避け、明るい日陰で管理(窓辺のレース越しがちょうど良かったです) もし根が茶色くドロっとしてきたら、傷んだ根は清潔なハサミでカットして、容器と水をリセット。私はその後に薄めたメネデール水へ戻すと、新しい白い根が出やすく感じました。 ■「水耕栽培ずっと」でもいける?土へ戻す? 水耕栽培のままでも育ちますが、葉を大きくしたい・長期でしっかり育てたいなら、根が増えたタイミングで土へ移行するのもありです。移行するときは、いきなり乾かさず“最初の1〜2週間は土をやや湿り気多め”にして、水耕根が土に慣れる時間を作ると失敗しにくかったです。 ■ヒメモンステラ(ラフィドフォラ)にも応用 ヒメモンステラの水耕栽培も基本は同じで、節が水に浸かりすぎないことと、水の清潔さが大事。新芽が動き出したら環境が合っているサインなので、あとは水量少なめ&こまめな観察で安定します。
