My favorite meals as a loose ✨carnivore ✨
I started my “weight loss journey” in January of 2024. I’m down a total of 40lbs. Rewind to the beginning of 2023, I got put on BC for cysts and put on 50 lbs in less than a year. I decided to take the risk and get off the meds but boy did I have a lot of work to do. I worked out about 5 days a week but did not really change my diet but was able to lose 25 lbs. then in June I started a loose carnivore diet. I have never felt so great and I’m now more confident in my body than ever before. I will never go back to the standard American diet (SAD for short because it is quite sad). If you are thinking about hopping on the band wagon, DO ITTTT!!!
When I first started my 'loose carnivore' journey, after realizing the standard American diet wasn't cutting it for my health and weight loss goals, I was always on the hunt for meals that were both delicious and incredibly practical. That's when carnivore egg bites truly became my secret weapon! They're not just a meal; they're a game-changer for anyone looking to stay consistent and feel amazing on this lifestyle. My absolute go-to, the one I rave about, is making bacon egg bites topped with cheese and avocado. Seriously, these are a staple in my fridge! Here’s my simple process: I start by cooking up a good amount of crispy bacon, letting it cool, and then crumbling it. While that's happening, I whisk about 8-10 eggs (depending on how many I want to make for the week) with a splash of heavy cream – this makes them super fluffy and rich, kind of like the base I use for my delicious sausage gravy, which is another carnivore favorite. Then, I grease a muffin tin, pour in the egg mixture, and add the crumbled bacon. A generous sprinkle of your favorite cheese goes on top – cheddar or Monterey Jack works wonders! For an extra protein punch, I sometimes mix in some cooked sausage too, just like the sausage, eggs, and cheese combo I love. These go into the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 18-22 minutes, or until they're nicely puffed and set. The moment they come out, still warm, is when I add my personal touch: fresh slices of avocado. Now, I know some strict carnivores might skip the avocado, but for my 'loose carnivore' approach, it adds healthy fats, a creamy texture, and makes these bites even more satisfying and flavorful. It's all about listening to your body and what helps you thrive. What I love most about these egg bites is their versatility and convenience. They're perfect for meal prepping – I make a big batch on Sunday, and they last me for days in the fridge, ready to grab-and-go. They've saved me countless times when I'm rushing out the door or need a quick, satiating snack. They're packed with protein and healthy fats, which means they keep me feeling full for hours, preventing those mid-morning or afternoon energy crashes that used to derail my progress. This sustained energy has been crucial in helping me maintain my 40lbs weight loss and feeling more confident than ever. You can get creative with them too! Instead of just bacon, you could finely chop up some leftover medium rare steak topped with butter and add it in, or even some shredded chicken from a rotisserie. I've even experimented with them for a "fun" meal, almost like a crustless mini quiche if you will, but always keeping it carnivore-friendly. Some people might even use them as a base to create a "chicken bacon pizza" feel by adding more cheese and a meat topping, though I usually stick to the simpler versions. Incorporating these bacon egg bites topped with cheese and avocado into my routine has been a total game-changer. They're a testament to how simple yet incredibly effective the carnivore diet can be for health and weight management. If you're on a similar journey or just curious about easy, delicious, and protein-rich meals, I genuinely encourage you to give these a try. They’re a delicious way to stay fueled and focused!
