Meet the Artist+ My fursona
My handwriting may be a bit hard to read but I can answer any questions y'all have in the comments! Given I forgot to make a MTA at the beginning of 2024, my usual plan of doing one at the start and end of the year got thrown out the window, so I made this both to cover my bases as well as redeem myself. There was a year where I first made my MTA traditionally and well...All I can say is that it's my least favorite out of the last 5ish years making these XD.
BUT I will say this year came out super well! I felt like including my Fursona, Sativa( who might be getting a sibling when I plan to make my mom one) because this is also the first time I've had a fursona really feel like it encapsulates me. Not to say my older ones didn't do that in some way, but many of those characters evolved into their own thing, their own stories and people. Sativa fedls purely like, well, me!

For me, my fursona Sativa (with her distinctive purple and yellow, glasses, and striped tail) truly feels like 'me' in a way my older characters didn't. When you're brainstorming fursona design ideas, think about what aspects of your personality you want to embody. Do you feel energetic and vibrant, like a fox with bright colors? Or calm and wise, like an owl in earthy tones? Don't be afraid to mix and match animal traits or even add unique accessories like Sativa's argyle vest. The goal is for them to resonate with *you*. It’s not just about drawing an animal; it’s about crafting a character that speaks to your inner self. Think about the 'why' behind each design choice – it makes the character so much richer. Exploring different art styles is another fantastic part of the artistic journey. Your fursona can even help you define or experiment with your own unique style! Some artists lean into detailed realism, others prefer the expressive lines of a cartoon, or the stylized shapes of kemono art. There's no single 'right' art style; it's all about what feels authentic to you and how you want to tell your story. For me, art is about self-discovery and connection.
