Chapter One of :The Let Them Theory by Mel Robins
My mom actually recommended that I read this book. I bought it the same day ,but I’m just now reading it. I regret it because I should have been reading it sooner!!!
I listened to chapter one and it’s a whole vibe! Mel ate with just two words “Let them”
Let them act how they want. Let them choose differently. Let them ignore you. Let them talk about you and behind your back. Just let them.
I’ve been wasting too much energy trying to manage everyone and everything around me. This chapter reminded me that i am not responsible for others behavior ,just my own peace.
If someone doesn’t include me. Let them.
If someone criticizes me. Let them.
If someone is jealous of me. Let them.
Instead of getting in my feelings, I’m learning to pause and ask myself:
Why does it bother me so much?
What do I want to do in this moment?
What is best for my peace?
I want to say “Let them doesn’t mean that I don’t care” but in truth, I’m starting not to give a F*ck. I’m caring about me and my well being more going forward.
This chapter made me realize that I need to stop chasing people, stop overthinking, and just be.
