clean girl and comfy??

In high school I always thought the “clean girls” looked so put together with their sweats and i always looked sooooo raggy with mine. I think i figured out the trick. Light colors and add in some quarter zips! I think if the material looks “good” that helps too! I literally got these pants for 10$ and my zip up was about 20$ so money definitely isn’t it. Also adding a slick back 🫢

But let's dive even deeper into how you can truly master this aesthetic, whether you're lounging at home or stepping out for a coffee run. First off, let's talk about those 'must-have' pieces that really tie the whole look together. Beyond the comfy quarter-zip sweatshirts and light grey sweatpants I mentioned, investing in a good pair of white sneakers is an absolute game-changer. They instantly elevate any athleisure outfit, making you look polished and put-together. Think simple, classic designs – you don't need fancy brands! I've found amazing pairs at budget-friendly stores that look just as good as their high-end counterparts. Another essential? Basic, well-fitting tees and tank tops in neutral colors like white, black, grey, and beige. They're perfect for layering under your quarter-zips or wearing on their own. Now, for those 'where to shop without breaking the bank' queries! My go-to strategy is always hitting up the sales racks or checking out online retailers known for affordable basics. Don't be afraid to try second-hand stores; you can unearth some real gems, especially for those 'good material' pieces. Always check the fabric blend – a little bit of cotton for breathability, maybe some fleece for coziness. Sometimes, just feeling the fabric can tell you a lot about how "expensive" it will look, even if it's super cheap! Remember, the goal is looking effortlessly refined, not necessarily wearing designer labels. To really nail the 'clean girl athleisure' look, it's about balance. If you're wearing loose sweatpants, pair them with a slightly more fitted top or a structured jacket. Or, if you're rocking leggings or bike shorts, throw on an oversized sweatshirt or a long-line cardigan. A tiny detail that makes a huge difference? Accessorizing minimally. A simple gold hoop, a delicate necklace, or a classic watch can instantly upgrade your ensemble. Don't forget a sleek, minimalist bag – a small crossbody or a simple tote works wonders. And that slicked-back hair? It's iconic for a reason! To achieve that perfectly polished look, start with damp hair. Use a good strong-hold gel or hair pomade, brushing it back tightly with a fine-tooth comb. Secure it with a hair tie for a low bun or ponytail, then smooth down any flyaways with a bit more product. It instantly makes you feel more 'done' even if you have no makeup on. Speaking of makeup, the 'clean girl' aesthetic often features a 'no-makeup makeup' look – think glowing skin, a touch of blush, brushed brows, and maybe a tinted lip balm. It's all about enhancing your natural beauty. Finally, for those mirror selfies that perfectly capture your 'clean girl aesthetic,' lighting is everything! Stand near a window for natural light, or make sure your room is brightly lit. A clean mirror is non-negotiable! Experiment with angles – sometimes slightly tilting your phone or posing with one leg slightly bent can make a world of difference. It’s about showcasing the entire vibe, not just the outfit. Remember, the 'it girl' and 'pretty girl' aesthetic often boils down to confidence and feeling great in what you wear, and that starts with finding pieces that make you feel comfy and chic, no matter the price tag!
