THIS BOOK DIDN’T QUITE LIVE UP TO THE HYPE FOR ME
I don’t want to come across as negative because truthfully, this book was fine. The thing is, I have seen so much hype surrounding it (Goodreads, Fable, Amazon all average between 4.2 and 4.5 star reviews), and for me, it was just “fine”, with about a 3 star rating. When everyone seems to love a book and I don’t, I wonder if I am missing something? Do I have bad taste? Or are we all just different people with different interests?
What I liked: I loved listening to this book on Audible because of the podcast format. I also thought the grandmother character was a hoot.
What I didn’t like: IMO, it was just so AVERAGE. Nothing terrible, just nothing earth shattering. I like a bit more of an engaging story with more twists and turns.
