It’s important to also focus on composition techniques like the rule of thirds and framing to make the portraits more visually engaging. Additionally, building rapport with your subject can make a huge difference. When the person feels comfortable, their expressions become more natural and compelling, which enhances the authenticity of the portrait. Don’t hesitate to try various poses or candid shots to capture unique emotions and personalities. For beginners, using a moderate aperture like f/4 or f/5.6 helps keep the subject sharp while gently blurring the background, creating professional-looking portraits. Reviewing your photos and seeking constructive feedback can guide your improvement journey. Ultimately, portrait photography is an evolving skill—regular effort and thoughtful experimentation will lead to noticeable growth over time.
